The "Citizens for Kurt Mathey Legal Fund" is a not for profit organization formed on June 3, 2009.  The purpose of the organization is to raise funds to assist the Mathey family in paying the legal costs associated with charges filed against him resulting from a complaint by the fire chief and assistant fire chief of the Sycamore Fire Department.  The members of the organization firmly believe in Kurt's innocence related to these charges, but due to the pending court case, the organization has no further information regarding the legal matters to disclose at this time. 

Initially, all proceeds from donations to the "Citizens for Kurt Mathey Legal Fund" will be used to help Kurt Mathey pay for his legal costs.  In the event that donations exceed the costs of Kurt's legal costs, the remaining fund money will be donated to the American Cancer society, in honor of Nick Calendo, Kurt and Barb's nephew.
